Information on the NIH Public Access Policy
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) was successful in making their public access submission policy mandatory.  This policy takes effect April 7, 2008.  This means that all investigators who are funded by NIH in whole or in part must submit their accepted peer-reviewed manuscripts to NIH's PubMed Central (www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov) upon acceptance for publication.  PubMed Central is an open-access, online archive of full-text biomedical and life sciences journal articles.  Join us for an informational session to find out more about what the policy is about and how libraries and librarians are going to be helping researchers on campus comply with the policy.
Scheduled sessions include:

Tuesday, March 18, 12-1 PM, HSLC, room 1335
Wednesday, March 19, 12-1 PM, Microbial Sciences, Room 1420
Thursday, March 20, 12-1 PM, Engineering Centers Bldg, Room 1045
Thursday, March 27, 8 AM - 9 AM, HSLC, Room 1335
Monday, March 31, 12-1 PM, Microbial Sciences Bldg, Room 1520

If you have any questions about this policy, please don't hesitate to call or email Julie Schneider, 263-5755, jschneider@library.wisc.edu
